Lip augmentation, better known as lip fillers, is a simple, effective, and very popular treatment that can help you achieve the lips you have been dreaming of.
As we age, typically around our 30's or 40's, we often notice our lips become thinner, and they lose their natural, full shape. This is due to a localised depletion of collagen. As we age, the rate at which we produce this vital protein begins to rapidly slow down, resulting in our lips becoming thin.
Using hyaluronic acid dermal filler, we can restore volume in the lip safely and effectively. This can allow for better facial balancing and give you a refreshed appearance and look too. It’s non-surgical and it is possible to “reverse” the treatment
What is Lip filler?
Lip fillers, also known as lip augmentation or lip injections, are cosmetic procedures that involve injecting dermal fillers into the lips to enhance their size, shape, and overall appearance. Dermal fillers used for lip augmentation are typically made from hyaluronic acid, a substance naturally found in the body that helps maintain hydration and volume in the skin.
The benefits of Lip Filler
Lip fillers offer a range of benefits for those seeking to enhance their lips. Here are some of the key advantages:

1. Increased Lip Volume
Lip fillers can add volume to thin or flat lips, giving them a fuller and more plump appearance. This can help achieve a more youthful and rejuvenated look.

2. Enhanced Lip Shape
In addition to adding volume, lip fillers can also improve the shape and symmetry of the lips. They can address issues such as asymmetry, unevenness, or a disproportionate upper or lower lip.

3. Natural-Looking Results
One of the biggest advantages of lip fillers is that they can provide natural-looking results. Skilled practitioners can carefully inject the fillers to create subtle enhancements that complement your facial features.

4. Quick and Convenient Procedure
Lip filler treatments are typically quick and convenient, with minimal downtime. The procedure can generally be completed within 30 minutes, making it a popular choice for those with busy lifestyles.

5. Reversible Effects
Another benefit of lip fillers is that the effects are not permanent. If you’re not satisfied with the results or decide you no longer want lip fillers, they can be reversed or adjusted.

The Lip filler procedure
Consultation and Assessment
Before the procedure, you’ll have a consultation with the practitioner to discuss your goals and expectations. We will assess your lips’ current condition, shape, and symmetry and recommend the appropriate treatment plan.

Numbing the Lips
To minimise discomfort, numbing cream is applied to the lips. This will ensure a more comfortable experience during the injection process. If you are worried about pain, you can purchase numbing cream from a chemist and apply this up to 45minutes before your appointment. Please ONLY use EMLA numbing cream and nothing stronger as strong numbing cream can mask signs and symptoms of a vascular occlusion.

Injection Process
Once the lips are numbed, dermal filler will carefully be injected into the lip filler into the predetermined areas using a fine needle or cannula. They will strategically place the filler to achieve the desired volume, shape, and symmetry.

Post-Treatment Assessment
After the injections, the results will be assessed and any necessary adjustments may be carried out to ensure optimal outcomes. The lips will then be massaged to distribute the filler evenly and reduce the risk of lumps or bumps.

Recovery and Downtime
Most individuals experience minimal downtime after lip filler treatments. However, you may experience some swelling, redness, or bruising in the treated area. These side effects are temporary and typically subside within a few days.
